I was asked by the folks at Lazerian to customise their dog mascot- Gerald. Hes made from sheets of cut and folded A1 paper. Several illustrators and artists have decorated versions of him and there will be a show at some point. Battling the elements

I've designed another batch of mugs for my friends at Alpkit. This series is called Battling the Elements and has a group of greek/roman god characters causing havoc for some outdoor types. You can but them from Alpkit here

Anorak

Heres a recipe illustration I did for kids magazine Anorak for a kind of croissant bread pudding type thing. The cover is by Studio Tipi.

I designed this logo graphic for Team GB Olympic runner Julia Bleasdale. The type is from a quote from one of her BBC interviews - 'I came to the Games saying I am not here for the tracksuit...'.

Big word

Taxi Studio asked me to contribute to a book of phobias that they have put together. Mine was Hippopotomonstrossesquippedaliophobia - fear of long words - which I spread over a few pages and roped in a hippo to help.

Full English

I was selected to take part in Bakers Dozen, a print project organised by Ted Baker and the AOI. The theme I was given to work with was the english breakfast. I've carried out quite a bit of research into this topic over the years and I felt as though I knew my subject. Theres some info below but all is explained on the Ted Baker site here.

Ted Baker is collaborating with The Association of Illustrators (AOI) to commission ‘Baker’s Dozen,’ whereby thirteen talented artists will produce one-off pieces of British themed artwork. Each A2 personally signed print will have a print run of 1000 copies and will be gifted to customers worldwide from 18thOctober 2012, spending over £150 on Ted’s new Autumn Winter 2012 collections.

The full list of illustrators involved is Sara Fanelli, Katherina Manolessou, Robert Shadbolt, Allan Deas, Laura Barrett, Alice Potter, Jane Smith, Paul Bommer, Freddy Boo, Gemma Latimer, Andy Smith, Matt Richards, Michael Woods and Lina Kusaite.

Big Questions from little people...

'Big questions from little people..answered by some very big people' by Gemma Elwin Harris is a book I've been working on for Faber and Faber. Over 100 questions from children have been answered by experts and celebrities such as David Attenborough, Jarvis Cocker, Alain de Botton, Richard Dawkins and Tracey Emin.
Theres some great questions in there such as Can a bee sting a bee? How does fire get on fire? and Is it okay to eat a worm?

It was the Association of Illustrators Images show last night at Somerset House. A couple of my illustrations won awards- The Big Fish Fight for Channel 4 and Finish what you start for The Do Lectures (you can buy a screenprint of this one for £20 from here) The show runs at Somerset House until the 28th October and then tours the country. Under my Hat

shazam olympics

More Olympic work this time for Bloomberg BusinessWeek Magazine in the US. These accompany a technology article about Shazam the mobile phone based music identification service and its branching out into more mobile apps during the Olympics.

London

With the opening ceremony tonight this is a bit topical. Cover of Waitrose weekend Magazine. Theres lots of rules about what you can and can't do and so theres no rings, athletes or even mention of the O••••••s.

Weird Science

This is an A3 promo book I've worked on for the ad agency Red C. Its litho printed but has a nice screenprinty feel. I've also done a mural for their offices and some work on their website

Mini Golf

I've been doing quite a bit of work for Atoova in France over the last couple of years and this summer they have got involved with the Paris Plages project, with part of the banks of the seine transformed into a beach. They asked me to develop a mini golf course with landmarks from the capital as golf holes. Heres some pics taken before any serious golfers turned up.
